Ameesha Joshi

Ameesha Joshi is a Toronto native who graduated with a B.A. in psychology from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, in 1996 and worked in the software industry. It wasn’t until 2001 that she discovered her interest in filmmaking and directed her first short about a female boxer. While making the film, she developed a true appreciation for the sport. She completed her master’s of fine arts at Concordia University in Montreal. Her work is inspired by her Indian cultural heritage and her passion for visual storytelling.
Anna Sarkissian

Born in Montreal, Canada, Anna Sarkissian is a filmmaker and anthropologist. Her work has been screened at festivals, in galleries, and on television. She received her bachelor of fine arts from Montreal’s Concordia University and her master’s in social anthropology from the University of Oxford. For her doctorate in anthropology, she spent a year trying to "break in" to Hollywood to shed light on gender inequality among filmmakers. She is currently developing a documentary about the concept of "wilderness" and US national parks.
Jackie Dzuba
Editor
Jackie Dzuba has been working in the film and television industry for over 25 years as a picture editor. Jackie has edited television documentaries for such broadcasters as CBC, A&E, Global Television, Vision TV, TVO, Al Jazeera UK, and NHK Japan. She won the Gemini Award from the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television for Best Picture Editing for the documentary They Live to Polka in 2006. She also received an excellence in editing nomination at the Seoul Drama Awards for the CBC mini-series Prairie Giant: The Tommy Douglas Story. She has also served as editor on the smash hit CTV comedy series Corner Gas.
